If you can, attend the Rabbis for Human Rights talk at Temple Beth Shalom on June 1 at 7:00 p.m. Take notes and let us know your reactions/comments.
On Wednesday, June 1, at 7:00 p.m. at Temple Beth Shalom (205 East Barcelona Road . Santa Fe, New Mexico . 87505), Rabbi Arik Asherman, one of the founders of Rabbis for Human Rights (RHR) in Israel will speak. RHR claims that it works for both the Jewish and Arab poor in Israel. You can see its list of activities/priorities, most of which seem to be related to Palestinian issues in the disputed territories (West Bank), and Negev Bedouin issues, along with advocating for the poor and housing issues of Israelis.
We urge you to attend the talk and assess the balance and fairness of this organization and its speaker. Ask appropriate and penetrating questions, and report back to us on your general take on RHR by submitting a comment to this blog post. If you have information which you’d rather not distribute widely on this blog, send it to info@sfmew.org.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts/comments.
