Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva has handled the bulk of the casualties from the Hamas evil attack. They had plans to handle 150 wounded from past experience. Instead they had to handle 4 times that amount in the first 12 hours of the massacre, and they did it with amazing aplomb and success. Unfortunately some of their medical personnel – doctors, nurses and others – were killed at their clinics while trying to treat casualties near the Gaza border.
Israel Bonds just held a webinar with the CEO of Soroka, who detailed the challenges. As soon as we get the recorded web link we’ll send it out. We think you’ll find Dr. Shlomi Codish’s presentation compelling to consider buying Israel Bonds as another way to help Israel in this time of need. Israel Bonds has raised $250 million since October 7, and hopes to achieve at least 2 times that over the next few weeks. If you want to give money to help Soroka Medical Center, you can get more information: https://www.soroka.org/bonds/ .
BTW, did you know that Hamas shelled the Barzalai Hospital in Ashkelon on October 7. By the fate of luck rather than Hamas’ intention there were no casualties. But the wire services, NGOs, New Mexican and others (some prematurely blaming Israel for the Gaza hospital bombing yesterday) never mentioned Barzalai in any of their communications. Times of Israel had a brief mention (see here). See below about
